استحصال کا شکار ہونے والی خواتین کو مجرم سمجھا جاتا ہے: ماہرہ خان

According to Mahira Khan, when his plays and films are reviewed, he is seen working with people who present different thoughts and stories.
In response to a question, the actress said that in countries like Pakistan, only women who are victims of ‘rape, sexual harassment and exploitation’ have been found guilty and imprisoned and asked false questions.
He said that whenever an unfortunate incident happens to a woman, instead of arresting the accused, a series of false questions are started by the same woman.
Mahira Khan said the questions were just started about the victim, why she went to the scene alone. What was she doing there and the one with whom she was her friend?
According to the actress, all of the above questions are wrong and it seems that the victim is the perpetrator.
Mahira Khan said that in order to change such a mentality, changes had to be made in the curriculum.
The actress also said that television (TV) and movies can also work to change the mindset of blaming and questioning women.
In this regard, he said that when he played the role of a girl who was the victim of ‘rape’ in the 2017 film ‘Soss’, people started asking him.
Mahira Khan said that people told her after being a victim of ‘rape’, what was the need to go back to the perpetrators to take revenge on the perpetrator and gather evidence?
According to him, many people have told him that the victims in Pakistan do not take their revenge and even if they do, they do not risk as much as the characters in the movie ‘Soss’.
Mahira Khan also said that Pakistani society is not yet ready to accept the roles she played in the movie ‘Varna’ because she is wearing jeans and speaks English in the movie while she is taking revenge. To create a dream to repeat what happened to her.
It may be recalled that in the 2017 film ‘Varna’ Mahira Khan played the role of a married woman, Sarah, whose husband is disabled.

اداکارہ نے انٹرویو میں اس تاثر سے بھی انکار کیا کہ وہ صرف کچھ فلمسازوں ، مصنفین اور پروڈیوسروں کے ساتھ کام کرتی ہیں۔
ماہرہ خان کے مطابق جب ان کے ڈراموں اور فلموں کا جائزہ لیا جاتا ہے تو وہ ان لوگوں کے ساتھ کام کرتے نظر آتے ہیں جو مختلف خیالات اور کہانیاں پیش کرتے ہیں۔
ایک سوال کے جواب میں ، اداکارہ نے کہا کہ پاکستان جیسے ممالک میں ، صرف وہ خواتین جو ‘عصمت دری ، جنسی ہراسانی اور استحصال’ کا شکار ہوتی ہیں ، مجرم پائی جاتی ہیں اور انہیں قید کیا جاتا ہے اور جھوٹے سوالات پوچھے جاتے ہیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ جب بھی کسی خاتون کے ساتھ کوئی ناخوشگوار واقعہ پیش آتا ہے تو ملزم کو گرفتار کرنے کے بجائے اسی خاتون کی طرف سے جھوٹے سوالات کا سلسلہ شروع کیا جاتا ہے۔
ماہرہ خان نے کہا کہ ابھی ابھی متاثرہ کے بارے میں سوالات شروع کیے گئے تھے کہ وہ اکیلی جائے وقوعہ پر کیوں گئی۔ وہ وہاں کیا کر رہی تھی اور جس کے ساتھ وہ اس کی دوست تھی۔
اداکارہ کے مطابق مذکورہ بالا تمام سوالات غلط ہیں اور ایسا لگتا ہے کہ متاثرہ شخص مجرم ہے۔
ماہرہ خان نے کہا کہ ایسی ذہنیت کو تبدیل کرنے کے لیے نصاب میں تبدیلیاں لانا پڑیں گی۔
اداکارہ نے یہ بھی کہا کہ ٹیلی ویژن (ٹی وی) اور فلمیں خواتین پر الزام لگانے اور سوال کرنے کی ذہنیت کو تبدیل کرنے کے لیے بھی کام کر سکتی ہیں۔
اس حوالے سے ان کا کہنا تھا کہ جب انہوں نے 2017 میں فلم ’سوس‘ میں ایک لڑکی کا کردار ادا کیا جو ’ریپ‘ کا شکار ہوئی تو لوگوں نے اس سے پوچھنا شروع کیا۔
ماہرہ خان نے کہا کہ لوگوں نے اسے ’ریپ‘ کا شکار ہونے کے بعد بتایا ، مجرم سے بدلہ لینے اور ثبوت اکٹھے کرنے کے لیے مجرموں کے پاس واپس جانے کی کیا ضرورت تھی؟
ان کے بقول ، بہت سے لوگوں نے ان سے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان میں متاثرین اپنا بدلہ نہیں لیتے ہیں اور اگر وہ کرتے بھی ہیں تو وہ اتنا خطرہ نہیں رکھتے جتنا فلم ‘سوس’ کے کرداروں کو۔
ماہرہ خان نے یہ بھی کہا کہ پاکستانی معاشرہ ابھی تک فلم ‘ورنا’ میں ادا کیے گئے کردار کو قبول کرنے کے لیے تیار نہیں ہے کیونکہ وہ جینز پہنے ہوئے ہے اور فلم میں انگریزی بولتی ہے جبکہ وہ بدلہ لے رہی ہے۔ اس کے ساتھ جو ہوا اسے دہرانے کے لیے ایک خواب تخلیق کرنا۔
یاد رہے کہ 2017 کی فلم ’ورنا‘ میں ماہرہ خان نے ایک شادی شدہ خاتون سارہ کا کردار ادا کیا تھا جس کا شوہر معذور ہے۔
فلم میں ماہرہ خان کے کردار کو ایک طاقتور شخص نے اس کے اغوا کے بعد ‘ریپ’ کیا ہے ، جس کے بعد اس کے کردار کو اس کے شوہر اور خاندان کے دیگر افراد نے پرسکون رہنے کے لیے کہا ہے۔
فلم میں ماہرہ خان کا کردار خاندانی دباؤ کی وجہ سے تھوڑی دیر کے لیے خاموش رہتا ہے ، لیکن پھر وہ اپنے شوہر کی مدد سے خود سے بدلہ لینے اور مجرم کو انصاف کے کٹہرے میں لانے کے لیے اٹھ کھڑی ہوتی ہے۔
فلم میں ماہرہ خان کا کردار بھی عدالتی جنگ ہارتے ہوئے دکھایا گیا ہے ، لیکن اس کے باوجود وہ ریپ کرنے والے کو سزا کے کردار میں لاتا ہے۔
