عالمی ادارہ صحت کے سربراہ طالبان قیادت سے ملاقات کے لیے افغانستان پہنچ گئے
World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom has arrived in Kabul on a visit to Afghanistan, where he will discuss the health of the people with the leadership of Afghanistan’s current ruling Taliban.
Ahmed Al-Mandhari, Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, is accompanied by the WHO chief during the visit.
“I am in Afghanistan with the regional director and the health of the Afghan people is a top priority for the World Health Organization,” Tedros Adhanom said in a message on the social networking site Twitter.
“As well as visiting health facilities, we will meet with WHO officials, health workers and Taliban leaders in Afghanistan,” he said.
Afghanistan’s interim minister Wahid Majrooh said during a meeting with the Taliban leadership, the head of the World Health Organization is expected to discuss the suspension and resumption of World Bank aid to Afghanistan’s health sector.
Ahmed Wasiq, a member of the Cultural Commission of the Ministry of Information and Culture, said the WHO would meet Prime Minister Mullah Hassan Akhund and his deputy Mullah Baradar, as well as the acting foreign minister.
Earlier this month, the World Health Organization (WHO) said hundreds of health facilities in Afghanistan were at risk of closure because Western donors to Afghanistan refused to cooperate with the new Taliban government.
Rick Brennan, the World Health Organization’s regional emergency director, said in an interview that about 90 percent of the 2,300 health facilities would close this week.
He said the World Health Organization is providing supplies, equipment and financial support to 500 health centers in Afghanistan to fill the gap.
Significantly, the Taliban advanced rapidly last month and on 15 August captured the entire country.
Ten days after the Taliban came under control, the World Health Organization warned that there was only a week’s worth of medical supplies left in the country.

افغانستان کے عبوری وزیر وحید مجروح نے کہا کہ طالبان قیادت سے ملاقات کے دوران ، عالمی ادارہ صحت کے سربراہ سے توقع کی جاتی ہے کہ وہ افغانستان کے صحت کے شعبے کے لیے عالمی بینک کی امداد کی معطلی اور بحالی پر بات چیت کرے گا۔
وزارت اطلاعات و ثقافت کے ثقافتی کمیشن کے رکن احمد وثیق نے کہا کہ ڈبلیو ایچ او وزیراعظم ملا حسن اخوند اور ان کے نائب ملا برادر کے علاوہ قائم مقام وزیر خارجہ سے ملاقات کرے گا۔
اس مہینے کے شروع میں ، عالمی ادارہ صحت (ڈبلیو ایچ او) نے کہا تھا کہ افغانستان میں سینکڑوں صحت کی سہولیات بند ہونے کا خطرہ ہے کیونکہ افغانستان کے مغربی ڈونرز نے طالبان کی نئی حکومت کے ساتھ تعاون کرنے سے انکار کر دیا ہے۔
ورلڈ ہیلتھ آرگنائزیشن کے ریجنل ایمرجنسی ڈائریکٹر ریک برینن نے ایک انٹرویو میں کہا کہ اس ہفتے 2300 صحت سہولیات میں سے 90 فیصد بند ہو جائیں گی۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ عالمی ادارہ افغانستان کے 500 صحت مراکز کو سامان ، سامان اور مالی مدد فراہم کر رہا ہے تاکہ خلا کو پر کیا جا سکے۔
قابل ذکر بات یہ ہے کہ طالبان نے گزشتہ ماہ تیزی سے پیش قدمی کی اور 15 اگست کو پورے ملک پر قبضہ کر لیا۔
طالبان کے قابو میں آنے کے دس دن بعد ، عالمی ادارہ صحت نے خبردار کیا ہے کہ ملک میں صرف ایک ہفتے کے قابل طبی سامان باقی ہے۔
