اس سال گندم کی پیداوار میں اضافے کی توقع کی جارہی ہے
Wheat production is expected to increase this year, according to a national daily, with many industry experts familiar with the situation, saying Pakistan would go far beyond previous records.
The newspaper conducted a survey, which found that Pakistan could harvest 28.75 million tonnes of wheat this year. If realized, this amount is likely to surpass the previous high of 26.67 million tonnes in 2016-17.
In the last two years, Pakistan has had to import more than two million tonnes of wheat to meet supply shortages due to low crop yields. If the expected production is achieved, it can also meet the local demand and eliminate the need for any import of wheat, at least not in significant quantities.
On the other hand, wheat production estimates provided by the federal government are slightly lower than the 2016-17 level.
Reviewing the performance of the Rabi crops (2020/21) last week, the Federal Committee on Agriculture estimated that wheat production would be 26.04 million tonnes, an increase of 1.7 per cent over the previous year.
The report said that with a slight increase in yield per acre, the overall yield could increase. This was estimated by an official of the Punjab Agriculture Department who told the media that if the area under the current cultivation is taken into account, the provincial production has jumped by 600,000 tonnes with an increase of one acre per acre.
Contrary to the government’s estimate of about 33 manats per acre, farmers are more optimistic about getting higher wheat yields in the 2020/21 season.
“We have never heard of 40-45 per acre yield from so many farmers this year,” the report quoted Ibrahim Mughal, chairman of Agri Forum Pakistan, as saying.
When the right temperature at the time of sowing the crop results, the chances of higher yields arise. “Safely, we can see at least 1.5 million tonnes more production than the initial estimate,” he said.

ایکڑ میں لگ بھگ 33 منڈ کے سرکاری تخمینے کے خلاف ، کسان 2020/21 کے موسم میں گندم کی زیادہ پیداوار حاصل کرنے کے بارے میں زیادہ پر امید ہیں۔
اس خبر میں ایگری فورم پاکستان کے چیئرمین ، ابراہیم مغل کے حوالے سے بتایا گیا ہے کہ ، “ہم نے اس سال اتنے کاشتکاروں کی طرف سے فی ایکڑ پیداوار 40-45 کے بارے میں کبھی نہیں سنا ہے۔”
جب فصل بونے کے وقت موزوں درجہ حرارت کا نتیجہ ہوتا ہے تو اس کے نتیجے میں زیادہ پیداوار حاصل ہونے کے امکانات پیدا ہوتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا ، “محفوظ طریقے سے ، ہم ابتدائی تخمینے سے کم سے کم 15 لاکھ ٹن زیادہ پیداوار دیکھ سکتے ہیں۔”
