عمر اکمل معطلی کم ہونے کے باوجود اپیل کے نتیجہ سے “مطمئن نہیں”
پاکستانی بیٹسمین عمر اکمل نے کہا کہ وہ اب بھی اپیل کے نتائج سے مطمئن نہیں ہیں ، حالانکہ ان کی تین سالہ پابندی کو کم کرکے 18 ماہ کردیئے گئے ہیں۔
جسٹس (ریٹائرڈ) فقیر محمد کھوکھر نے کرکٹر کی اپیل پر فیصلے کے اعلان کے بعد میڈیا سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے عمر نے کہا ، “میں اس سے خوش نہیں ہوں۔” “بہت سے کرکٹرز کو ماضی میں کم سزا دی گئی ہے۔”
کوئٹہ گلیڈی ایٹرز کے بیٹسمین نے کہا کہ وہ اپنے وکلاء اور کنبہ کے ممبروں سے مشورے کے بعد اس فیصلے کو چیلنج کرنے پر غور کریں گے۔ “ہمارے پاس فیصلے پر اپیل کرنے کا موقع ہے۔”
افتتاحی کھیل کے موقع پر الزامات سامنے آنے کے بعد کوئٹہ گلیڈی ایٹرز کے اس سال کو پاکستان سپر لیگ (پی ایس ایل) میں شرکت سے روک دیا گیا تھا کہ اس نے انسداد بدعنوانی کوڈ کی خلاف ورزی کی ہے۔
اکمل کو بعد میں کسی بھی کھیل میں ہیرا پھیری کی کوششوں کی اطلاع نہ دینے پر قصوروار پایا گیا ، اور ایک ڈسپلنری کمیٹی نے بیٹسمین پرتین سال کی پابندی عائد کردی۔
Pakistani batsman Umar Akmal said he was still not satisfied with the outcome of the appeal, even though his three-year ban had been reduced to 18 months.
“I am not happy about it,” Umar told reporters after Justice (retd) Faqir Muhammad Khokhar announced the verdict on the cricketer’s appeal. “Many cricketers have been given lesser punishment in the past.”
The Quetta Gladiators batsman said he would consider challenging the decision after consulting his lawyers and family members. “We have the opportunity to appeal the decision.”
Quetta Gladiators were barred from participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) this year after allegations surfaced during the opening game that they had violated the anti-corruption code.
Akmal was later found guilty of failing to report any manipulation attempts in any sport, and a disciplinary committee banned the batsman for three years.
