The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has released a report of “violations” committed by the pilot of an unfortunate PK-8303 aircraft by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) that crashed in Karachi on May 22.
The additional director of the civil aviation authority sent a letter to the PIA security department. The letter states that the pilot of the Airbus 320 aircraft did not follow the instructions of the air traffic controller (ATC).
It is said that the altitude of the aircraft at the approach point was high and the air traffic controller had warned the PK-8303 captain about this. The height of the aircraft was 5,200 feet at 7 nautical miles, which are considered high by the approach profile.
The report also said that the air traffic controller had warned and instructed the captain twice to turn the aircraft to 180 degrees in addition to maintaining the required altitude. However, the instructions were completely neglected by the pilot.
The aircraft was also reported to have dropped from 3,500 feet to 4 nautical miles to an altitude of 1,300 feet, while the aircraft’s speed before landing was more than 250 knots, which is also considered high due to the required acceleration.

سول ایوی ایشن اتھارٹی (سی اے اے) نے پاکستان انٹرنیشنل ایئرلائنز (پی آئی اے) کے بدمعاش پی کے 8303 طیارے کے پائلٹ کی بنائی گئی ’خلاف ورزیوں‘ کے بارے میں ایک رپورٹ جاری کی ہے جو 22 مئی کو کراچی میں گر کر تباہ ہوا تھا۔

رپورٹ میں یہ بھی کہا گیا ہے کہ ، ایئر ٹریفک کنٹرولر نے کپتان کو دو بار انتباہ کیا تھا اور طیارے کو 180 ڈگری کی طرف موڑنے کے علاوہ مطلوبہ بلندی کو برقرار رکھنے کی ہدایت کی تھی ، تاہم ، پائلٹ کے ذریعہ ہدایات کو یکسر نظرانداز کردیا گیا تھا۔
اس میں مزید بتایا گیا ہے کہ جہاز 4 سمندری میل پر 3 ہزار 500 فٹ سے 1300 فٹ اونچائی پر گر گیا ، جبکہ طیارے کی رفتار لینڈنگ سے قبل 250 گانٹھ سے زیادہ تھی جو ضروری سرعت سے بھی اونچی سمجھی جاتی ہے۔
