The Suzuki Hustler’s crossover SUV-inspired design has made it one of the most sought-after kei cars in Pakistan, although it is only available as an imported vehicle. The box-shaped design, the sturdy-looking front and rear bumpers and black fender flair, the vibrant two-tone body colors and the round headlights and grille design make it look like a smaller, happier version of the Suzuki Jimny (Suzuki’s actual off-road SUV).
The Hustler has Suzuki’s R-series engine, a 658 cc 3-cylinder petrol engine that develops around 50 hp and 63 Nm of torque. A 660 cm³ turbo engine with 65 hp and 100 Nm torque is optionally available. The vehicle is available with either front-wheel drive (FWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD) and can be combined with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission.
Similar to its competitors in its class, the Hustler has multiple functions including double airbags, ABS brakes, stability control, lane departure warning, automatic high beam, automatic headlights, cruise control, etc. The comfort features include automatic air conditioning, Eco Idle auto-engine start-stop system, an intelligent infotainment system, 6-way adjustable seats, 4-way adjustable steering wheel, a start button, electric windows and a spacious cabin.
In Japan, the prices of the Hustler are Rs. 1.64 million for the low-spec variant and Rs. 1.82 million for the high-spec variant. While the Hustler is better value for money than the Honda N-One, it’s still a bit expensive for its class. Regardless, with its unique appearance and impressive properties, it could become popular only in Pakistan.
