Pakistan’s veteran middle-order batsman Shoaib Malik is one of the most sought after players in franchise T20 cricket worldwide. The veteran batsman is one of the most successful players in T20 and has set numerous records in his illustrious career.
The country recently won its 37th Player of the Match award in T20 cricket, the most by any cricketer in Asia and the fifth in the world. Malik performed the feat during a match between the Sri Lankan Premier League (LPL) Jaffna Kings and the Candy Warriors.
The 39-year-old scored 14 off 9 balls and bowled an extraordinary spell of 1/19 in 3 overs, dismissing Pakistani batsman Ahmed Shehzad. This helped Jaffna to a fourth victory in the competition as they are comfortably at the top of the standings.
The veteran all-rounder has played 456 matches in T20 cricket and has been named Player of the Match 37 times and the best player of the series 3 times. Second on the list is former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi, who has won the award 34 times.
