شہباز شریف اور حمزہ کی ضمانت قبل از گرفتاری میں 30 اکتوبر تک توسیع
A special court in Lahore extended bail prior to the arrest of opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif and his son Hamza Shahbaz in the money laundering case until October 30.
Shahbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz face a 25 billion rupee money laundering case in the sugar scandal.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had registered a case against him in November 2020 in accordance with the provisions of the Pakistan Penal Code, the Prevention of Corruption Law and the Anti-Money Laundering Law.
Shahbaz Sharif is accused of helping his sons Hamza Shahbaz and Salman Shahbaz accumulate wealth through unknown sources of income.
The court had previously granted him a two-week bail on 25 September.
At today’s hearing, Moazzam Habib represented the FIA and informed the court that Shahbaz Sharif had submitted his response to the questionnaire sent to him by the agency.
He told the court that the defendant’s response had not yet been reviewed.
The judge commented that the FIA had been asking for time for some time and the case had been shelved for some time.
The defendant’s attorney, Amjad Pervez, said his clients were cooperating with the FIA in every possible way.
He said that by law, the investigation of the case should have been completed within 14 days, but the FIA has spent 11 months investigating the case.
The FIA spokesman responded that it was a “big case” and that the agency was “checking the transactions.”
He also objected to the jurisdiction of the court and said that the Banking Court did not have jurisdiction to hear the case.
The court then asked the lawyer to present his argument on the court’s jurisdiction at the next hearing.
Shahbaz Sharif asked the judge to hold the next hearing after the recess and said that he has to attend the next session of the National Assembly.
The court postponed the hearing until October 30.
‘The nation’s money is being wasted on the case’
Meanwhile, PML-N Undersecretary General Ataullah Tarar criticized the FIA for questioning the court’s jurisdiction at today’s hearing.
Speaking to reporters after the hearing of the case, he asked: “Why didn’t the FIA raise similar objections when Jahangir Tareen’s case was taken up by the Banking Court?”
He said the nation’s money and court time were being wasted in this case.

شہباز شریف اور حمزہ شہباز کو شوگر سکینڈل میں 25 ارب روپے کے منی لانڈرنگ کیس کا سامنا ہے۔
وفاقی تحقیقاتی ایجنسی (ایف آئی اے) نے نومبر 2020 میں ان کے خلاف پاکستان پینل کوڈ ، کرپشن کی روک تھام کے قانون اور منی لانڈرنگ کے قانون کی دفعات کے مطابق مقدمہ درج کیا تھا۔
شہباز شریف پر الزام ہے کہ انہوں نے اپنے بیٹوں حمزہ شہباز اور سلمان شہباز کی آمدنی کے نامعلوم ذرائع سے دولت جمع کرنے میں مدد کی۔
اس سے قبل عدالت نے انہیں 25 ستمبر کو دو ہفتے کی ضمانت دی تھی۔
آج کی سماعت میں معظم حبیب نے ایف آئی اے کی نمائندگی کی اور عدالت کو آگاہ کیا کہ شہباز شریف نے ایجنسی کی جانب سے انہیں بھیجے گئے سوالنامے پر اپنا جواب جمع کرا دیا ہے۔
اس نے عدالت کو بتایا کہ مدعا علیہ کے جواب کا ابھی جائزہ نہیں لیا گیا۔
جج نے تبصرہ کیا کہ ایف آئی اے کچھ عرصے سے وقت مانگ رہی تھی اور کیس کو کچھ عرصے کے لیے روک دیا گیا تھا۔
مدعا علیہ کے وکیل امجد پرویز نے کہا کہ ان کے موکل ایف آئی اے کے ساتھ ہر ممکن تعاون کر رہے ہیں۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ قانون کے مطابق کیس کی تفتیش 14 دن کے اندر مکمل ہونی چاہیے تھی تاہم ایف آئی اے نے کیس کی تحقیقات میں 11 ماہ گزارے ہیں۔
ایف آئی اے کے ترجمان نے جواب دیا کہ یہ ایک “بڑا کیس” ہے اور ایجنسی “ٹرانزیکشنز کو چیک کر رہی ہے۔”
انہوں نے عدالت کے دائرہ اختیار پر بھی اعتراض کیا اور کہا کہ بینکنگ کورٹ کے پاس کیس سننے کا اختیار نہیں ہے۔
اس کے بعد عدالت نے وکیل سے کہا کہ وہ آئندہ سماعت پر عدالت کے دائرہ اختیار پر اپنی دلیل پیش کرے۔
شہباز شریف نے جج کو ریس کے بعد اگلی سماعت کرانے کا کہا اور کہا کہ انہیں قومی اسمبلی کے اگلے سیشن میں شرکت کرنی ہے۔
عدالت نے سماعت 30 اکتوبر تک ملتوی کردی۔
‘کیس پر قوم کا پیسہ ضائع کیا جا رہا ہے’
دریں اثنا ، مسلم لیگ (ن) کے انڈر سیکرٹری جنرل عطاء اللہ تارڑ نے ایف آئی اے کو تنقید کا نشانہ بنایا کہ وہ آج کی سماعت میں عدالت کے دائرہ اختیار پر سوال اٹھائے۔
کیس کی سماعت کے بعد صحافیوں سے بات کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے پوچھا: “جب ایف آئی اے نے اسی طرح کے اعتراضات کیوں نہیں اٹھائے جب کہ جہانگیر ترین کا کیس بینکنگ کورٹ نے اٹھایا تھا؟”
انہوں نے کہا کہ اس کیس میں قوم کا پیسہ اور عدالت کا وقت ضائع کیا جا رہا ہے۔
