ڈالر کے مقابلے میں روپیہ ایک اور ریکارڈ کمی
Dealers said the rupee touched another low of 171.04 in the interbank foreign exchange market on Tuesday as demand for foreign currency for external payments remained uncontrollable.
The rupee depreciated by 30 paise against the greenback in the interbank foreign exchange market and closed at Rs 170.74 against the greenback.
Earlier, on October 6, 2021, the rupee hit a historic low of Rs 170.96 against the dollar.
Dealers said demand for the dollar for import payments has been steadily depreciating against the rupee.
The import bill rose 65 percent to 18 18.63 billion in the first quarter of the current fiscal year (July-September) from 11 11.28 billion in the same quarter last fiscal.

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has taken various steps over the past two weeks to discourage dollar outflows. However, these measures are unable to prevent the rupee from depreciating.
The local currency has been under pressure since the beginning of this financial year. The local unit lost Rs 13.50 or 8.57% against the dollar on June 30, 2021 from Rs 157.54 to Rs 171.04.

ڈیلرز نے کہا کہ درآمدی ادائیگیوں کے لیے ڈالر کی مانگ روپے کی قدر میں مسلسل کمی کر رہی ہے۔
درآمدی بل رواں مالی سال کی پہلی سہ ماہی (جولائی تا ستمبر) کے دوران 65 فیصد اضافے کے ساتھ 18.63 بلین ڈالر ہو گیا جبکہ گزشتہ مالی سال کی اسی سہ ماہی میں یہ 11.28 بلین ڈالر تھا۔

اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان (ایس بی پی) نے گزشتہ دو ہفتوں کے دوران ڈالر کے اخراج کی حوصلہ شکنی کے لیے مختلف اقدامات کیے۔ تاہم یہ اقدامات روپے کی قدر میں کمی کو روکنے سے قاصر ہیں۔
مقامی کرنسی رواں مالی سال کے آغاز سے ہی دباؤ میں رہی۔ مقامی یونٹ نے 30 جون 2021 کو ڈالر 157.54 روپے سے 171.04 روپے تک ڈالر کے مقابلے میں 13.50 روپے یا 8.57 فیصد کھو دیا۔
