لاہور ہائی کورٹ نے صوبائی حکومت کے 18 جون کے نوٹیفکیشن کو معطل کرنے کے بعد پنجاب کمشنروں کے پاس پرائس کنٹرول اور لوگوں کو سزا دینے پر ٹرائل کرنے کا خصوصی اختیار نہیں ہے۔

Punjab commissioners no longer have special powers to bring price controls to justice and convict people after the Lahore Supreme Court suspended the provincial government’s June 18 notification.
A man petitioned against the notification, saying that the powers of the executive and the judiciary were different. The notification is against the constitution.
The court asked the Punjab government to provide a detailed answer.
It appears that the Punjab government also wants judicial powers, Chief Justice Qasim Ali Khan noted. If the notification is declared null and void, the Punjab CM and the Secretary General will be issued with contempt notices, he added. “We won’t let the government mock the courts.”
On June 18, the Punjab government delegated the powers of the special judges to its executive officers, including all deputy commissioners, additional deputy finance commissioners, general, F&P and auxiliary commissioners.
They were given the authority to carry out raids, to carry out legal proceedings relating, among other things, to hoarding, food adulteration, driving crimes and to convict those responsible. The powers have been conferred on them in accordance with Section 14-A of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which enables the provincial government to appoint special judges.
