Prime Minister Imran Khan visited COMSTECH headquarters in Islamabad on Thursday. The Prime Minister has been informed by the Ministry of Science and Technology, in cooperation with the Pakistan Engineering Council, about medical devices and products manufactured in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister said in his speech that the nation had previously suffered from the addiction syndrome, but now is the time to change it. At a time when there is a worldwide demand for ventilators, Pakistan has started to manufacture its own ventilators. He said he now realized that it was not that difficult. “We are a nuclear power, nothing should be impossible for us.”
He added that the corona virus made it necessary for Pakistan to build its medical infrastructure. He added that the country’s ruling elite and rulers used to travel abroad with taxpayers’ money to do their tests at all, and that they now have no choice but to get treatment in their country.
Prime Minister said: “We need to improve our hospitals and spend money and improve our medical infrastructure.”
Minister of Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry also spoke at the meeting, saying that the country is now able to manufacture and export its own disinfectants.

جمعرات کو وزیر اعظم عمران خان اسلام آباد میں کامسٹک ہیڈ کوارٹر گئے۔ وزیر اعظم کو پاکستان انجینئرنگ کونسل کے اشتراک سے وزارت سائنس وٹیکنالوجی نے پاکستان میں تیار کیے جانے والے طبی سازوسامان اور مصنوعات کے بارے میں بریفنگ دی۔
وزیر اعظم نے اپنے خطاب میں کہا کہ قوم پہلے انحصار سنڈروم کا شکار تھی ، لیکن اب وقت آگیا ہے کہ اسے تبدیل کریں۔ ایسے وقت میں جب وینٹیلیٹروں کی عالمی مانگ ہے ، پاکستان نے اب اپنے ہی وینٹیلیٹر تیار کرنا شروع کردیئے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ انہیں اب احساس ہوگیا ہے کہ اتنا مشکل نہیں تھا۔ “ہم ایک ایٹمی طاقت ہیں ، ہمارے لئے کچھ بھی ناممکن نہیں ہونا چاہئے۔”
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ کورونا وائرس نے پاکستان کے لئے اپنا طبی انفراسٹرکچر تعمیر کرنا ضروری بنا دیا ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ملک کا حکمران طبقہ اور اقتدار میں رہنے والے اپنے ٹیسٹ کروانے کے لئے ٹیکس دہندگان کے پیسوں پر بیرون ملک سفر کرتے تھے اور اب ان کے پاس اپنے ملک میں علاج معالجے کے سوا کوئی دوسرا راستہ نہیں ہے۔
