The two officials also discussed issues of mutual interest, including enhancing cooperation in the economic sector, including trade and commerce, and various options for rescuing the Afghan people from the current financial crisis.
Afghan Acting Prime Minister Akhund also thanked Pakistani leaders for providing timely humanitarian assistance to the war-torn nation.
The Foreign Minister will also meet with Acting Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mottaki and other Afghan leaders in the Afghan capital.
The dialogue between the two sides will cover the entire field of bilateral relations and will focus on ways and means of deepening cooperation in various fields. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Foreign Minister will share Pakistan’s views on regional peace and stability issues.
FM Qureshi is the third foreign minister from Qatar and Uzbekistan to visit since the Taliban took power in mid-August.
