عمر شریف کو کراچی میں عبداللہ شاہ غازی کے مزار پر انکی خواہش کے مطابق دفن کیا گیا۔
Legendary comedian Omar Sharif was buried at the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Karachi as per his wish.
Omar Sharif’s widow, Zarin Ghazal, said the actor had asked her to be buried at Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine.
Zarin Ghazal had appealed to the Sindh government to allow the burial of Omar Sharif in the premises of Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s mausoleum, on which the provincial government had issued instructions to the mausoleum administration.
Many important personalities were present at the funeral of Omar Sharif and security arrangements were also tightened on the occasion.
Earlier, Maulana Bashir Farooqi had led Omar Sharif’s funeral prayers in a park in Clifton at 3 pm, which was attended by a large number of people.
Earlier, Sharif’s body was taken from his residence in Gulshan-e-Iqbal to a park named after him in Clifton.
A large contingent of police and Rangers was present around the funeral home while the road from Bilawal Chowrangi to Zia-ud-Din Hospital was closed to traffic for the transfer of the body.
Strict security arrangements were made at the park in Clifton and walk-through gates were installed at the entrances.
It may be recalled that Turkish Airlines flight TK 708 took off from Istanbul at 12:53 pm and reached Karachi Airport at around 5:33 am today (October 6).
Omar Sharif’s widow Zarin Ghazal and Consul General from Germany Amjad Ali also arrived in Karachi from Germany with his body.

عمر شریف کی بیوہ زرین غزل نے کہا کہ اداکار نے انہیں عبداللہ شاہ غازی کے مزار پر دفن کرنے کے لیے کہا تھا۔
زرین غزل نے سندھ حکومت سے اپیل کی تھی کہ عبداللہ شاہ غازی کے مزار کے احاطے میں عمر شریف کی تدفین کی اجازت دی جائے ، جس پر صوبائی حکومت نے مزار انتظامیہ کو ہدایات جاری کی تھیں۔
عمر شریف کے جنازے میں کئی اہم شخصیات موجود تھیں اور اس موقع پر سیکورٹی کے انتظامات بھی سخت کیے گئے تھے۔
اس سے قبل مولانا بشیر فاروقی نے عمر شریف کی نماز جنازہ کلفٹن کے ایک پارک میں سہ پہر 3 بجے پڑھائی تھی جس میں لوگوں کی بڑی تعداد نے شرکت کی۔
اس سے قبل شریف کی میت گلشن اقبال میں ان کی رہائش گاہ سے کلفٹن میں ان کے نام سے پارک میں لے جایا گیا۔
پولیس اور رینجرز کی بڑی نفری جنازے کے گھر کے ارد گرد موجود تھی جبکہ بلاول چورنگی سے ضیاء الدین ہسپتال تک سڑک کو ٹریفک کے لیے بند کردیا گیا تاکہ لاش کی منتقلی کی جا سکے۔
کلفٹن میں پارک میں سیکورٹی کے سخت انتظامات کیے گئے تھے اور داخلی راستوں پر واک تھرو گیٹس لگائے گئے تھے۔
یاد رہے کہ ترک ایئرلائن کی پرواز ٹی کے 708 نے استنبول سے 12:53 بجے اڑان بھری تھی اور آج (6 اکتوبر) کو صبح 5:33 بجے کراچی ایئر پورٹ پہنچی۔
عمر شریف کی بیوہ زرین غزل اور جرمنی سے قونصل جنرل امجد علی بھی اپنے جسم کے ساتھ جرمنی سے کراچی پہنچے۔
