According to the details, the public prosecutor’s office of NAB will appeal against the discharge of the accused who have benefited from the amendment law. Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, officials charged with the Trust Investment Bank, Hafiz Nouman and others are among the beneficiaries of the 2019 NAB Amendment Act
The NAB can only act in corruption cases of Rs 500 million and more and cannot seize property of government officials without the court’s order. This emerges from the NAB Amendment Act 2019
In addition, the accused is entitled to pay a deposit if the accountable watchdog cannot complete an investigation against a suspect within three months.
The NAB’s responsibility for tax, stock exchange and IPOs has been restricted.
