سینٹرل رویتِ ہلال کمیٹی پاکستان کے چیئرمین مفتی منیب الرحمن نے بتایا کہ وفاقی وزیر سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی فواد چوہدری نے کل رات نیا چاند دیکھنے کے بعد لوگوں سے کہا کہ وہ اپنے فیصلے خود کریں۔ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے صاف صاف کہا ہے کہ جب چاند کا 29 واں دن ابر آلود ہے اور چاند نظر نہیں آتا ہے تو ، 30 واں قمری مہینہ مکمل ہوجاتا ہے ، لیکن فواد چوہدری اور ان کے مشابہین کے مطابق نبی (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) کے حکم کی کوئی اہمیت نہیں ہے۔ آپ کا کام صرف مذہب کا مذاق اڑانا ہے۔
مفتی منیب الرحمٰن نے کہا کہ اسلام ، قرآن پاک اور سنت میں کہیں بھی یہ نہیں بتایا گیا ہے کہ چاند کی تاریخ کا تعین نئے چاند کی جسامت اور وقت کو دیکھ کر کیا جاتا ہے ، اور نہ ہی اسے فلکیات کی کتاب میں لکھا گیا ہے۔ یہ فواد چوہدری کی جہالت ہے جو خود کو سائنس کا امام سمجھتے ہیں؟
