The third and final match of the T20 series between Pakistan and West Indies is likely to go ahead as per schedule as the production team has been allowed to enter the National Stadium in Karachi.
The series came under suspicion when five other members of the West Indies squad, including three players, Shy Hope, Akil Hussain and Justin Graves, tested positive for the corona virus.
Earlier, Sheldon Cottrell, Ruston Chase, and Kyle Meyers were dropped from the tour after arriving in Pakistan with a Cowboy 19 Test positive.
While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) remained silent on the situation, the West Indies Cricket Board (WCB) announced that it would hold a virtual meeting with Pakistani officials to decide the future of the series.
Following this development, PCB officials decided to conduct a Covid 19 antigen rapid test and prevented the production team from entering the stadium until the results came out.
Now reports say that the rest of the Wendy’s squad has tested negative, after which the production team has been allowed to continue its activities.
On the other hand, no positive case was reported in the Pakistan camp. In addition, both teams held their practice sessions last night, indicating that the tour will continue.
