According to a foreign news agency, Mercer has released a survey of living expenses for 2021, according to which the city of Ashgabat in Turkmenistan is the most expensive city in the world, followed by Hong Kong, Beirut and Tokyo.
The cheapest city to live in is Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek. Lusaka, Zambia is second and Tbilisi, Georgia is third. Karachi ranks 9th and Islamabad 11th among cheap cities. To compile a list of 209 cities, more than 200 different expenditures were reviewed, including accommodation, travel, food and other necessities. According to the report, 5 of the cheapest cities are in Africa.
Earlier this month, the World Magazine Economist ranked Karachi among the 10 worst cities in the world in terms of housing facilities due to poor infrastructure, health and education.
