Data regulators in eight other European countries activated dispute resolution procedures when Ireland shared its provisional decision on the WhatsApp investigation, which began in December 2018.
The Irish regulator said that in July, a meeting of the European Data Protection Board issued “clear guidelines that needed to consider the DPC and increase its proposed approval”.
