Prime Minister Pakistan Imran Khan and the President of the United States, Donald Trump, agreed to step up cooperation in the fight against COVID-19.
The development came during a phone call between Prime Minister Imran Khan and US President Donald Trump. During the phone call, both Pakistan and the United States leaders discussed the situation resulting from the coronavirus pandemic, its impact on the global economy, and ways to mitigate its further impact.
Prime Minister Imran Khan paid tribute to President Trump for his government’s efforts to fight the pandemic. Imran Khan said Pakistan faces the dual challenge of overcoming the pandemic and saving people who are particularly vulnerable to hunger from the COVID-19 lockout. The prime minister said the government spent $ 8 million to alleviate the suffering of the poor while the corona virus was blocked.
Prime Minister Imran Khan thanks President Trump for his support in the IMF and other forums, adding that US cooperation will help Pakistan overcome the pandemic and economic crisis.
Imran Khan also expressed sympathy and condolences for the loss of valuable lives of US citizens due to the corona virus. During the call, President Trump assured the United States of America’s support for Pakistan in its efforts to combat the corona virus, including through the provision of ventilators and in the economic crisis, and offered to send Trump the latest rapid test machine to test the corona virus.
