جولائی اور اگست میں جی ڈی پی کی مضبوط شرح سے درآمدات میں اضافہ ہوا: وزیر خزانہ
Federal Finance and Revenue Minister Shaukat Tareen said the recent increase in Pakistan’s imports was due to economic growth.
Tareen today chaired a meeting in the Finance Division to review the country’s trade balance.
Federal Minister, Department of Economic Affairs, Umar Ayub Khan, Secretary Commerce, Secretary, Ministry of Information Technology, Secretary Finance, Governor SBP, Dr Raza Bakir, Executive Director General Investment Board, Business Advisor Abdul Aziz Razzaq Dawood and other senior officials. Officials attended the meeting.
The Commerce Secretary briefed the participants about the trade balance position during the last two months. He said imports increased during July and August as economic activity picked up, demand for raw materials increased and one-time items like the COVID 19 vaccine were imported.
The Finance Minister said that the economy grew by 4% during FY21, which is why there has been an increase in the demand for imports. “As long as the trade deficit remains stable, it will encourage economic recovery,” he said.
The Minister directed the Commerce Ministry to analyze the sensitivity of both imports and exports for each month of the year and prepare a scenario for effective forecasting.
In his concluding remarks, the Minister said that the policies of the present government have encouraged economic recovery amid the pandemic and the economy is moving in the right direction. Better earnings with Business Confidence Index and better ranking of international credit rating agencies.
وفاقی وزیر خزانہ اور محصولات شوکت ترین نے کہا کہ پاکستان کی درآمدات میں حالیہ اضافہ معاشی ترقی کی وجہ سے ہوا ہے۔
ترین نے آج مالیاتی ڈویژن میں ایک اجلاس کی صدارت کی تاکہ ملکی تجارتی توازن کا جائزہ لیا جا سکے۔

سیکریٹری تجارت نے شرکاء کو گزشتہ دو ماہ کے دوران تجارتی توازن کی پوزیشن سے آگاہ کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ جولائی اور اگست کے دوران درآمدات میں اضافہ ہوا کیونکہ معاشی سرگرمیوں میں تیزی آئی ، خام مال کی مانگ میں اضافہ ہوا اور ایک وقت کی چیزیں جیسے کوویڈ 19 ویکسین درآمد کی گئیں۔
وزیر خزانہ نے کہا کہ مالی سال 21 کے دوران معیشت میں 4 فیصد اضافہ ہوا ، یہی وجہ ہے کہ درآمدات کی مانگ میں اضافہ ہوا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ جب تک تجارتی خسارہ مستحکم رہے گا یہ معاشی بحالی کی حوصلہ افزائی کرے گا۔
وزیر نے وزارت تجارت کو ہدایت کی کہ وہ سال کے ہر مہینے کے لیے درآمدات اور برآمدات دونوں کی حساسیت کا تجزیہ کرے اور مؤثر پیش گوئی کے لیے ایک منظر نامہ تیار کرے۔
اپنے اختتامی کلمات میں وزیر نے کہا کہ موجودہ حکومت کی پالیسیوں نے وبائی امراض کے درمیان معاشی بحالی کی حوصلہ افزائی کی ہے اور معیشت صحیح سمت میں گامزن ہے۔ بزنس کنفیڈنس انڈیکس کے ساتھ بہتر کمائی اور بین الاقوامی کریڈٹ ریٹنگ ایجنسیوں کی بہتر درجہ بندی۔
