The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has removed the proposal to promote university students without an exam from the equation. HEC’s statement was made after students across the country protested HEC’s treatment of all online education in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. The largest demonstration took place in front of the HEC headquarters in Islamabad, when the students demanded promotion to the next semester without examination, suspension of online classes and exemption from semester fees.
Students faced all sorts of problems during the coronavirus pandemic, from lack of smartphones and laptops to poor or lack of internet coverage in remote areas and the mediocre quality of online lectures related to the announcement of online Exams are confused.
According to the HEC’s official statement after the protests, the HEC is in close contact with all Vice Chancellors (VCs) to solve any problems that students face. HEC and all universities are also working with PTA to address the connectivity issues that students face. With regard to the demand for exemption from fees, HEC has assured the students that they will deal with the universities in the coming days.

ہائیر ایجوکیشن کمیشن (ایچ ای سی) نے یونیورسٹی طلباء کو بغیر امتحان کے پروموٹ کرنے کی تجویز کو ہٹا دیا ہے۔ ایچ ای سی کا یہ بیان اس وقت پیش کیا گیا ہے جب کورونا وائرس وبائی امراض کے درمیان ملک بھر کے طلباء نے ایچ ای سی کے ذریعہ تمام آن لائن تعلیم کے معاملات کے خلاف احتجاج کیا تھا۔ سب سے بڑا مظاہرہ اسلام آباد میں ایچ ای سی ہیڈکوارٹر کے سامنے ہوا ، طلباء نے بغیر امتحانات کے اگلے سمسٹر میں پروموٹ ، آن لائن کلاسوں کی معطلی اور سمسٹر فیس سے مستثنیٰ کا مطالبہ کیا۔
کورونا وائرس وبائی مرض کے دوران طلباء کو ہر طرح کی پریشانیوں کا سامنا کرنا پڑا ، دور دراز علاقوں میں اسمارٹ فونز اور لیپ ٹاپ کی کمی یا انٹرنیٹ کی کوریج کی کمی سے اور آن لائن امتحانات کے اعلان سے متعلق آن لائن لیکچرز کا معمولی معیار الجھا ہوا ہے۔
احتجاج کے بعد ایچ ای سی کے بیان کے مطابق ، طلبہ کو درپیش کسی بھی پریشانی کے حل کے لئے ایچ ای سی تمام وائس چانسلرز (وی سی) سے قریبی رابطے میں ہے۔ ایچ ای سی اور تمام یونیورسٹیاں پی ٹی اے کے ساتھ مل کر رابطے کے امور کو دور کرنے کے لئے بھی کام کر رہی ہیں جن کا طلبا کو سامنا ہے۔ فیسوں سے مستثنیٰ کے مطالبے کے سلسلے میں ، ایچ ای سی نے طلبا کو یقین دلایا ہے کہ آنے والے وقتوں میں وہ یونیورسٹیوں سے مشاورت کریں گے۔
