حکومت قوم کے مستقبل سے کھیلنا بند کرے، شہباز شریف
PML-N President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif criticized the government over rising inflation and said that he should resign instead of playing with the future of the nation by imposing a mini budget.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the opposition leader said that the trade deficit exceeding 5 5 billion in December was a reflection of the economic catastrophe.
Shahbaz noted that during the first five months of the current financial year 2021-2022, the deficit has exceeded 20 20 billion. He said the record increase in trade deficit was the result of a historical imbalance between imports and exports.
He said that the figure of ڈالر 180 against the rupee has been crossed and inflation is on the rise. Now every dollar is equal to 180 rupees. Inflation is rising day by day which is not a good sign for the country.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the country was moving backwards instead of forwards. The economy is in reverse gear, “he said, adding that an additional 17% general sales tax (GST) on various items would increase prices.
The Leader of the Opposition lamented that the GST was reduced to control inflation elsewhere in the world but unfortunately the opposite was the case here.
Shahbaz Sharif said that financial advisers were also making contradictory statements regarding inflation. He further said that Pakistan is sometimes considered as the cheapest country in the world and at the same time global economic conditions are blamed for inflation.
He reiterated that the government should resign instead of imposing a mini-budget and playing with the future of the nation.
مسلم لیگ (ن) کے صدر اور قومی اسمبلی میں قائد حزب اختلاف شہباز شریف نے بڑھتی مہنگائی پر حکومت کو تنقید کا نشانہ بناتے ہوئے کہا کہ منی بجٹ لگا کر قوم کے مستقبل سے کھیلنے کے بجائے استعفیٰ دے دے۔
بدھ کو جاری کردہ ایک بیان میں اپوزیشن لیڈر نے کہا کہ دسمبر میں تجارتی خسارہ 5 بلین ڈالر سے تجاوز کرنا معاشی تباہی کی عکاس ہے۔
شہباز نے نوٹ کیا کہ رواں مالی سال 2021-2022 کے پہلے پانچ ماہ کے دوران خسارہ 20 بلین ڈالر سے تجاوز کر گیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ تجارتی خسارے میں ریکارڈ اضافہ درآمدات اور برآمدات کے درمیان تاریخی عدم توازن کا نتیجہ ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ روپے کے مقابلے ڈالر 180 کا ہندسہ عبور کر گیا ہے اور مہنگائی بڑھ رہی ہے۔ اب ہر ڈالر 180 روپے کے برابر ہے۔ مہنگائی روز بروز بڑھ رہی ہے جو کہ ملک کے لیے اچھی علامت نہیں ہے۔
شہباز شریف نے کہا کہ ملک آگے بڑھنے کے بجائے پیچھے کی طرف جا رہا ہے۔ معیشت ریورس گیئر میں ہے.” انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ مختلف اشیاء پر 17 فیصد اضافی جنرل سیلز ٹیکس (جی ایس ٹی) قیمتوں میں اضافہ کرے گا۔
اپوزیشن لیڈر نے افسوس کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ دنیا میں کہیں اور بھی مہنگائی پر قابو پانے کے لیے جی ایس ٹی میں کمی کی جاتی ہے لیکن یہاں بدقسمتی سے معاملہ اس کے برعکس ہے۔
شہباز شریف نے کہا کہ مشیر خزانہ مہنگائی کے حوالے سے بھی متضاد بیانات دے رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ پاکستان کو بعض اوقات دنیا کا سستا ترین ملک قرار دیا جاتا ہے اور ساتھ ہی ساتھ عالمی معاشی حالات کو مہنگائی کا ذمہ دار ٹھہرایا جاتا ہے۔
انہوں نے اس بات کا اعادہ کیا کہ حکومت منی بجٹ لگانے اور قوم کے مستقبل سے کھیلنے کی بجائے استعفیٰ دے ۔
