اسلام آباد میں اومیکرون کا پہلا کیس رپورٹ
Authorities in Islamabad have confirmed the first case of coronavirus variant Omicron.
Islamabad District Health Officer (DHO) Zaeem Zia said that the case has been identified in 47-year-old citizen, he works in Islamabad but went out of town for work.
He said there was no record of the patient traveling outside the country.
Zaeem Zia said that the variant was confirmed as Omicron while 10 people who were in contact with him have been identified and sent to quarantine.
“Our medical teams are ready to deal with the threat posed by the Omicron variant as effectively as they did in the previous wave,” he said.
The DHO urged the citizens to follow the SOPs of Code-19 and get vaccinated and also booster if they are eligible.
Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Hamza Shafqat also confirmed the cases being reported and said that there was a record of the patient traveling to Karachi.
Earlier this week, 12 suspected cases of Omicron were reported in Balochistan, and samples were sent to the National Institute of Health Islamabad for verification.
The first case of Omekron in Pakistan was reported on December 8 and after the test, the private hospital Aga Khan University Hospital confirmed it as a new variant on December 13.
The statement said that the patient is at home at the moment and is fine while no further cases have been reported in the hospital so far.
Health department sources had said on December 18 that a 35-year-old citizen of Karachi had also been identified as a variant and had returned from the UK on December 8.
On condition of anonymity, the official said that his report states that he has been infected with Omekron and has been sent to the National Institutes of Health for further confirmation.
The new variant of the corona virus, Omecron, was first diagnosed in November in South Africa and then in Hong Kong.
When the new variant was unveiled, travel restrictions were imposed on various countries by the NCOC.
Pakistan imposed travel bans on seven countries, including South Africa, on November 27 due to Omekron’s concerns.
The six countries affected by the sanctions were South Africa, Lesotho, Switzerland, Mozambique, Botswana and Namibia, as well as Hong Kong.
Later, on December 6, it was decided to impose travel bans on nine more countries, including Croatia, Hungary, the Netherlands, Ukraine, Ireland, Slovenia, Vietnam, Poland and Zimbabwe.

اسلام آباد کے ڈسٹرکٹ ہیلتھ آفیسر (ڈی ایچ او) زعیم ضیا نے بتایا کہ کیس کی شناخت 47 سالہ شہری میں ہوئی ہے، وہ اسلام آباد میں کام کرتا ہے لیکن کام کے لیے شہر سے باہر گیا تھا۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ ملک سے باہر جانے والے مریض کا کوئی ریکارڈ نہیں ہے۔
زعیم ضیاء نے کہا کہ ویریئنٹ میں اومیکرون کی تصدیق ہوئی ہے جبکہ ان کے ساتھ رابطے میں آنے والے 10 افراد کی شناخت کر کے انہیں قرنطینہ میں بھیج دیا گیا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا، “ہماری طبی ٹیمیں اومیکرون کے مختلف قسم سے لاحق خطرے سے اتنی ہی مؤثر طریقے سے نمٹنے کے لیے تیار ہیں جیسا کہ انھوں نے پچھلی لہر میں کیا تھا۔”
ڈی ایچ او نے شہریوں پر زور دیا کہ وہ کوڈ 19 کے ایس او پیز پر عمل کریں اور ویکسین لگائیں اور اگر وہ اہل ہیں تو بوسٹر بھی لگائیں۔
اسلام آباد کے ڈپٹی کمشنر محمد حمزہ شفقت نے بھی کیسز رپورٹ ہونے کی تصدیق کی اور کہا کہ مریض کے کراچی جانے کا ریکارڈ موجود ہے۔
اس ہفتے کے شروع میں، بلوچستان میں اومیکرون کے 12 مشتبہ کیسز رپورٹ ہوئے تھے، اور نمونے تصدیق کے لیے نیشنل انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ہیلتھ اسلام آباد بھیجے گئے تھے۔
پاکستان میں اومکرون کا پہلا کیس 8 دسمبر کو رپورٹ ہوا تھا اور ٹیسٹ کے بعد نجی اسپتال آغا خان یونیورسٹی اسپتال نے 13 دسمبر کو اس کی تصدیق کی تھی۔
بیان میں کہا گیا ہے کہ مریض اس وقت گھر پر ہے اور بالکل ٹھیک ہے جب کہ اسپتال میں اب تک مزید کوئی کیس سامنے نہیں آیا ہے۔
محکمہ صحت کے ذرائع نے 18 دسمبر کو بتایا تھا کہ کراچی کے ایک 35 سالہ شہری کی بھی شناخت ہوئی ہے اور وہ 8 دسمبر کو برطانیہ سے واپس آیا تھا۔
نام ظاہر نہ کرنے کی شرط پر، اہلکار نے بتایا کہ ان کی رپورٹ میں بتایا گیا ہے کہ وہ اومکرون سے متاثر ہوا ہے اور مزید تصدیق کے لیے اسے قومی ادارہ صحت بھیجا گیا ہے۔
کورونا وائرس کی نئی قسم اومیکرون کی تشخیص سب سے پہلے نومبر میں جنوبی افریقہ اور پھر ہانگ کانگ میں ہوئی تھی۔
جب نئی قسم کی نقاب کشائی کی گئی تو این سی او سی کی جانب سے مختلف ممالک پر سفری پابندیاں عائد کر دی گئیں۔
پاکستان نے اومکرون کے خدشات کے پیش نظر 27 نومبر کو جنوبی افریقہ سمیت سات ممالک پر سفری پابندیاں عائد کی تھیں۔
پابندیوں سے متاثر ہونے والے چھ ممالک میں جنوبی افریقہ، لیسوتھو، سوئٹزرلینڈ، موزمبیق، بوٹسوانا اور نمیبیا کے ساتھ ساتھ ہانگ کانگ بھی شامل ہیں۔
بعد ازاں 6 دسمبر کو کروشیا، ہنگری، ہالینڈ، یوکرین، آئرلینڈ، سلووینیا، ویت نام، پولینڈ اور زمبابوے سمیت مزید 9 ممالک پر سفری پابندیاں عائد کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا۔
