Essential Services Act (Maintenance) of 1952 for the smooth functioning of the flight operations of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for a period of 6 months, which was imposed by the Pakistani federal government. The updated order will take effect immediately upon notification to the Home Office to continue the National Airline’s (PIA) special operations in the COVID 19 crisis.
The orders were issued to all employment classes of the Pakistan International Airline to ensure the smooth functioning of flight operations as well as public security and the well-being of the people during these test times. After the introduction of the Essential Services (Maintenance) Act of 1952, employees could not refuse to perform their duties. Otherwise, the authorities will bring the workers to justice.
