قومی فوڈ سکیورٹی اینڈ ریسرچ فخر امام نے کہا کہ پاکستان کو ماضی میں متعدد چیلنجز کا سامنا کرنا پڑا ہے اور اب کوویڈ 19 نے غذائی تحفظ کی ضرورت کو بڑھانے کے علاوہ معیشت پر بھی شدید اثر ڈالا ہے۔
کوڈ 19 اور فوڈ سکیورٹی سے متعلق فوڈ اینڈ ایگریکلچرل آرگنائزیشن (ایف اے او) کے تیسرے علاقائی اجلاس کے مجازی اجلاس کے دوران خطاب کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ ملک کی تقریبا 75 فیصد برآمدات زراعت پر مبنی ہیں۔
اس میٹنگ میں کوویڈ 19 چیلنجوں سے نمٹنے کے ل لچک پیدا کرنے پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔

Pakistan has faced numerous challenges in the past and now Covid-19 has severely impacted the economy and increased the need for food security, said Minister of National Food Security and Research Fakhar Imam.
During a virtual meeting of the third regional meeting of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) on Covid-19 and food security, he said that agriculture accounts for about 75% of the country’s exports.
The meeting discussed strengthening resilience to the challenges of Covid-19.
He pointed out that in addition to the outbreak of the corona virus, the locust infestation had also hit the agricultural sector badly. He added that the uncertainty about nutrition and nutrition contribute to the negative effects on livelihood and economic activity. Imam said that about 20-25% of the Pakistani population lived below the poverty line and Covid-19 had disrupted economic activity.
