The Punjab Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) has disclosed alleged millions of rupees worth of corruption in the name of the flour subsidy under the Ramazan package by mill owners in Rawalpindi. The corruption cases were filed against the mills of the leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) after an investigation launched by the Punjab anti-corruption facility into alleged corruption in flour subsidies under the Ramazan aid package was completed.
A case of corruption was filed against the former member of the PML-N Provincial Assembly (MPA), Chaudhry Riaz, who owned one of the mills discovered in the alleged corruption. However, the second case was filed against another PML-N MPA that the mill owner identified as Shahid Zaheer. It was shown that the corruption worth millions of rupees was caused by flour subsidies under the Ramazan package during the tenure of former PML N chief minister Shehbaz Sharif.
