A large number of tourists in Swat district used to stay in rented houses to spend the month of Ramadan and on moon night all these tourists would return to their areas and then on the day of Eid Swat would be full of tourists again. Due to the virus, tourist destinations and hotels in Swat district are now deserted. Malam Jabba, a tourist destination in Swat, which used to be visited only in summer, is now booming for 12 months of the year.
Rehman, a local resident of Malam Jabba, told that the wheel of development in the area has stalled due to Corona and people associated with the industry have settled in their homes.
Officials of the Hotel Association in Swat told that the prices of hotels here are 50 per cent lower than Murree and other tourist destinations in the country.

ضلع سوات میں سیاحوں کی ایک بڑی تعداد ماہ رمضان میں گزارنے کے لئے کرایے کے مکانوں میں رہتی تھی اور چاند رات کو یہ سارے سیاح اپنے علاقوں میں واپس آجاتے تھے اور پھر عید کے دن سوات پھر سے سیاحوں سے بھرا پڑتا تھا۔ وائرس کی وجہ سے ضلع سوات میں سیاحتی مقامات اور ہوٹل اب ویران ہوگئے ہیں۔ سوات کا ایک سیاحتی مقام مالم جبہ ، جو صرف گرمیوں میں آتا تھا ، اب سال کے 12 مہینوں کے لئے عروج پر ہوتا تھا۔
مالم جبہ کے ایک رہائشی رحمان نے بتایا کہ علاقے میں ترقی کا پہیہ کورونا کی وجہ سے رک گیا ہے اور اس صنعت سے وابستہ افراد اپنے گھروں میں ہیں۔
سوات میں ہوٹل ایسوسی ایشن کے عہدیداروں نے بتایا کہ یہاں کے ہوٹلوں کی قیمتیں مری اور ملک کے دیگر سیاحتی مقامات سے 50 فیصد کم ہیں۔
