Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said in an interview with state broadcaster Pakistan Television (PTV) that the recent conflict between China and India was triggered by its “illegal construction” in Ladakh. China wants to solve problems through dialogue, but “Can’t forget India’s illegal constructions,” he asked the world community to take note of India’s hostile policies.
The Foreign Minister expressed concern about India’s construction of roads and airstrips in Ladakh, a controversial area, and added that New Delhi’s “aggressive policies against its neighbors are jeopardizing regional peace and stability”.
Qureshi pointed out that New Delhi had deprived occupied Jammu and Kashmir of its special status last year, and said the move indicated India’s intention to “change the demographic makeup of the territory.” He also claimed that India “used the country of Afghanistan against Pakistan”.
The Foreign Minister said in a separate statement: “The world should take note of India’s motives, where are we going? Sometimes India has problems with Nepal, sometimes it tries (New Delhi) to disrupt the Afghan peace process. Added that” India is trying to promote riots in Baluchistan, and now it has done the same in Ladakh, trying to blame China. “
In a series of tweets on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan compared current Indian politics with the National Socialist concept of “living space”, which encompassed the policies and practices of settler colonialism. He said India had a border conflict with Pakistan, China and Nepal. Pakistan is being threatened with false flag operations on the Indian side, he added.
