A dealer in the Saddar electronic market, identified as Abid, allegedly committed suicide on Thursday evening by jumping from a multi-story building in Karachi
He jumped from a multi-story building near Star City Mall in the Saddar area of Karachi, allegedly because of the miserable situation of his business in the middle of the block.
Karachi Electronic Dealers Association (KEDA) chairman Rizwan Irfan has accused the provincial and federal governments of killing a dealer. He said that the political struggle between the province and the center has started killing traders.
He reiterated his call to enable business to reopen its business in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
According to the deceased merchant’s family, Abid had no domestic or business problems.
Police officers also called it an “obvious suicide incident”. They said an investigation was underway to determine the reason for Abid’s death. Abid’s shop was on the second floor of the same building, the police said.
They added that eyewitnesses saw Abid alone moving upstairs and later some people saw him jump out of the building. The police also said that those present had seen him take off his slippers before committing suicide.

کراچی الیکٹرانک ڈیلرز ایسوسی ایشن (کےڈا) کے چیئرمین رضوان عرفان نے صوبائی اور وفاقی حکومت پر ایک تاجر کی ہلاکت کا الزام عائد کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ صوبے اور مرکز کے مابین سیاسی جدوجہد نے تاجروں کو مارنا شروع کردیا ہے۔
انہوں نے معیاری آپریٹنگ طریقہ کار (ایس او پیز) کے تحت کاروباری برادری کو اپنا کاروبار دوبارہ کھولنے کی اجازت دینے کے اپنے مطالبے کا اعادہ کیا۔
متوفی تاجر کے اہل خانہ کے مطابق ، عابد کو گھریلو یا کاروباری پریشانی کا سامنا نہیں تھا۔
پولیس عہدیداروں نے بھی اسے “بظاہر خودکش واقعہ” قرار دیا ہے۔ ان کا کہنا تھا کہ عابد کی موت کی وجہ معلوم کرنے کے لئے تفتیش جاری ہے۔ پولیس نے بتایا کہ عابد کا اسٹور اسی عمارت کی دوسری منزل پر تھا۔
