Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a cabinet meeting Thursday calling on the Justice Department to prepare the Conflict of Interest Act after federal cabinet members worried about ministers, advisors, and special assistants running their private affairs in public offices.
Minister of National Food Security and Research, Fakhar Imam, when discussing the sugar investigation report, suggested that ministers should not conduct their business while in public office. “There must be a” Conflict of Interest Act “to avoid this practice.”
Some cabinet members supported the minister’s proposal in the interest of the government and the public. They said ministers who run their businesses while in public office should not be allowed to do so.
The law does not exist at the federal level, which is why the Prime Minister has commissioned the Ministry of Justice to prepare a draft.
Fakhar Imam called for the law to be implemented as soon as cabinet members first prepare it.
After briefing on the sugar investigation report, cabinet members asked the Prime Minister questions and made suggestions.
They asked some serious questions about permission to export sugar and subsidies.
Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said: “There is no obvious reason why the Punjab government is granting rupees 3 billion. The Punjab chief minister should answer why he granted the grant. “He added that one of the reasons for the shortage of goods in the country was export.
Minister of Communication Murad Saeed said: “Who will ask the people who have given permission to export sugar?”
Cabinet members welcomed Federal Investigation Agency Director General Wajid Zia and Special Assistant Shehzad Akbar as they prepared the sugar crisis investigation report.
Cabinet members praised the Prime Minister for setting up a commission to publish the sugar investigation report, saying they were with the Prime Minister against the Mafia, which is stealing the public from their hard-earned money.
Cabinet members raised the issue of unelected members who were accepted into the cabinet.
The Minister of Aviation said: “We should at least know the details of the assets of the unelected members. Details of their assets should be obtained. “
Science and technology minister Fawad Chaudhry said transparency and accountability are the motto of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. “There should be rules for unelected cabinet members.”
At the request of cabinet members, the Prime Minister asked for details of the assets of advisors and special assistants.

جمعرات کو وزیر اعظم عمران خان نے کابینہ کے اجلاس کی صدارت کی جس کے دوران انہوں نے وزارت قانون کو مفادات کے تنازعہ کو تیار کرنے کا حکم دیا جب وفاقی کابینہ کے ممبران ایسے وزراء ، مشیروں اور خصوصی معاونین سے تشویش میں مبتلا ہوگئے جنہوں نے سرکاری دفاتر میں رہتے ہوئے اپنے نجی کاروبار کا انتظام کیا۔
وزیر برائے قومی فوڈ سیکیورٹی اینڈ ریسرچ فخر امام نے شوگر انوسٹی گیشن رپورٹ پر تبادلہ خیال کرتے ہوئے مشورہ دیا کہ وزراء کو عوامی عہدہ سنبھالتے ہوئے اپنا کاروبار نہیں چلانا چاہئے۔
کابینہ کے کچھ ارکان نے حکومت کے ساتھ ساتھ عوام کے بہتر مفاد میں وزیر کے اس مشورے کی حمایت کی۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ ایسے وزراء جو عوامی دفاتر میں رہتے ہوئے اپنے کاروبار چلا رہے ہیں ، انہیں ایسا کرنے کی اجازت نہیں ہونی چاہئے۔
قانون وفاقی سطح پر موجود نہیں ہے ، اسی وجہ سے وزیر اعظم نے وزارت قانون کو ایک مسودہ تیار کرنے کی ذمہ داری سونپی ہے۔
شوگر انکوائری رپورٹ پر بریفنگ کے بعد ، کابینہ کے ارکان نے وزیر اعظم سے سوالات پوچھے اور تجاویز دیں۔
انہوں نے چینی برآمد کرنے اور سبسڈی دینے کے سلسلے میں کچھ سنجیدہ سوالات پوچھے۔
وزیر ہوا بازی غلام سرور خان نے کہا ، “پنجاب حکومت کے 3 ارب روپے کی سبسڈی دینے کے پیچھے کوئی واضح وجہ نہیں ہے۔ وزیراعلیٰ پنجاب کو جواب دینا چاہئے کہ انہوں نے سبسڈی کیوں دی۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ ملک میں اجناس کی قلت کے پیچھے ایک وجہ اس کی برآمدات بھی تھیں۔
وزیر مواصلات مراد سعید نے کہا ، “ان لوگوں سے کون پوچھے گا جنہوں نے چینی برآمد کرنے کی اجازت دی ہے؟” کابینہ کے اراکین نے شوگر بحران سے متعلق تحقیقاتی رپورٹ تیار کرنے پر وفاقی تحقیقاتی ایجنسی کے ڈائریکٹر جنرل واجد ضیا اور معاون خصوصی شہزاد اکبر کو سراہا۔
کابینہ کے اراکین نے شوگر انوسٹی گیشن رپورٹ جاری کرنے کے لئے کمیشن بنانے پر وزیر اعظم کی تعریف کی ، انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ مافیا کے خلاف وزیر اعظم کے ساتھ ہیں ، جو عوام کو ان کی محنت سے کمائی جانے والی رقم سے چوری کرتا ہے۔
کابینہ کے ممبروں نے ایک بار پھر کابینہ میں شامل غیر منتخب اراکین کا معاملہ اٹھایا۔
وزیر ہوا بازی نے کہا ، “ہمیں غیر منتخب ممبروں کے اثاثوں کی تفصیلات کے بارے میں کم سے کم معلوم ہونا چاہئے۔ ان کے اثاثوں کی تفصیلات طلب کی جائیں۔
وزیر سائنس و ٹیکنالوجی فواد چوہدری نے کہا کہ شفافیت اور احتساب پاکستان تحریک انصاف کا نصب العین ہے۔ کابینہ کے غیر منتخب اراکین کے لئے اصولوں کا ہونا لازمی ہے۔
