ساہیوال میں آلودگی کی ذمہ دار پچھلی حکومتیں ہیں، شہباز گل
On Saturday, Dr Shahbaz Gill, special assistant to the prime minister for political liaison, blamed previous governments for the pollution in Sahiwal.
Without naming any political party, the adviser said, “They built a coal power plant on the lush agricultural land of Sahiwal, making the city one of the most polluted areas in the country.”
He said that when Prime Minister Imran Khan started the tree planting program in 2013, the opposition used to make fun of him.
He further said that Changa Manga has suffered a lot in these years and only 37% of the area is green.
“Dangerous air pollution has caused respiratory and lung diseases among the residents,” he said, sharing a report claiming that Sahiwal topped the list of Pakistan’s ten most polluted cities with 394 AQI. It is followed by Lahore and Bahawalpur.
Elaborating on the measures taken by the ruling government to reduce pollution, the aide to the Prime Minister said that the government was constructing three large and seven medium-sized clean energy dams. He added that the government’s aim is to plant trees.

کسی سیاسی جماعت کا نام لیے بغیر، مشیر نے کہا کہ “انہوں نے ساہیوال کی سرسبز و شاداب زرعی زمین میں کول پاور پلانٹ بنایا جس کے نتیجے میں شہر کا شمار ملک کے آلودہ ترین علاقوں میں ہوتا ہے۔
انہوں نے کہا کہ جب وزیراعظم عمران خان نے 2013 میں شجرکاری کا پروگرام شروع کیا تو اپوزیشن اس کا مذاق اڑاتی تھی۔
ان کا مزید کہنا تھا کہ چھانگا مانگا نے ان سالوں میں بہت نقصان اٹھایا ہے اور صرف 37 فیصد رقبہ ہی سر سبز ہے۔
“خطرناک فضائی آلودگی رہائشیوں میں سانس اور پھیپھڑوں کی بیماریوں کا باعث بنی ہے،” انہوں نے ایک رپورٹ کا اشتراک کرتے ہوئے کہا جس میں دعویٰ کیا گیا ہے کہ ساہیوال 394 کے ساتھ پاکستان کے دس آلودہ ترین شہروں کی فہرست میں سرفہرست ہے، اس کے بعد لاہور اور بہاولپور ہیں۔
آلودگی کو کم کرنے کے لیے حکمران حکومت کے اقدامات کے بارے میں تفصیلات بتاتے ہوئے، وزیر اعظم کے معاون نے کہا کہ حکومت تین بڑے اور سات درمیانے درجے کے صاف توانائی کے ڈیم بنا رہی ہے۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ حکومت کا مقصد پودا لگانا ہے۔
