وفاقی حکومت جعلی خبروں کے خلاف قانون میں نیا بل لانے والی ہے
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry has revealed that the federal government is about to sign a new bill in the law aimed at curbing the problem of fake news in the country’s media industry.
According to details, the Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MOIB) has already submitted the draft bill to the federal cabinet for approval, which will become law after the approval of the federal cabinet.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the disease of fake news has gripped the media industry of the country, adding that the media industry has failed to curb the spread of false propaganda through fake news. Due to which the MOIB drafted such a bill.
He termed fake news as the biggest challenge facing the country’s media industry, adding that the trend of fake news in the country started after the revolution in the IT industry and the increase in the number of media platforms.
He asked the media industry to go ahead and propose a solution to the problem of fake news, adding that input from the media industry would be made part of the draft bill.
The minister also stressed the need to train journalists in modern technology so that they are able to deal with modern warfare across the border.
He recalled a report by the EU’s Disinfo Lab from December last year which exposed a vast Indian network of 750 fake media outlets located in 116 countries that have been using Pakistan internationally for the past 15 years. Running a global defamation campaign.
He added that he was calling for fundamental media, political and judicial reforms from 2018. He said that these reforms are very important for the country and it cannot move forward without them.
وفاقی وزیر اطلاعات و نشریات فواد چوہدری نے انکشاف کیا ہے کہ وفاقی حکومت قانون میں ایک نئے بل پر دستخط کرنے والی ہے جس کا مقصد ملک کی میڈیا انڈسٹری میں جعلی خبروں کے مسئلے کو روکنا ہے۔
تفصیلات کے مطابق وفاقی وزارت اطلاعات و نشریات (ایم او آئی بی) پہلے ہی بل کا مسودہ وفاقی کابینہ کو منظوری کے لیے پیش کر چکی ہے جو کہ وفاقی کابینہ کی منظوری کے بعد قانون بن جائے گا۔
اس حوالے سے بات کرتے ہوئے وزیر موصوف نے کہا کہ جعلی خبروں کی بیماری نے ملک کی میڈیا انڈسٹری کو لپیٹ میں لے لیا ہے ، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ میڈیا انڈسٹری جعلی خبروں کے ذریعے جھوٹے پروپیگنڈے کے پھیلاؤ کو لگام دینے میں ناکام رہی ہے ، جس کی وجہ سے ایم او آئی بی نے اس طرح کے بل کا مسودہ تیار کیا۔
انہوں نے جعلی خبروں کو ملک کی میڈیا انڈسٹری کے سامنے سب سے بڑا چیلنج قرار دیتے ہوئے مزید کہا کہ ملک میں جعلی خبروں کا رجحان آئی ٹی انڈسٹری میں انقلاب اور میڈیا پلیٹ فارمز کی تعداد میں اضافے کے بعد شروع ہوا۔
انہوں نے میڈیا انڈسٹری سے کہا کہ وہ آگے بڑھے اور جعلی خبروں کے مسئلے سے نمٹنے کے لیے حل تجویز کرے ، انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ میڈیا انڈسٹری سے ان پٹ کو بل کے مسودے کا حصہ بنایا جائے گا۔
وزیر نے صحافیوں کو جدید ٹیکنالوجی کی تربیت دینے کی ضرورت پر بھی زور دیا ، تاکہ وہ سرحد پار سے جدید جنگ سے نمٹنے کے قابل ہو جائیں۔
انہوں نے گزشتہ سال دسمبر سے یورپی یونین کی ڈسینفو لیب کی اس رپورٹ کو یاد کیا جس نے 116 ممالک میں مقیم 750 جعلی میڈیا آؤٹ لیٹس کے ایک وسیع بھارتی نیٹ ورک کو بے نقاب کیا جو کہ پچھلے 15 سالوں سے پاکستان کو بین الاقوامی سطح پر بدنام کرنے کے لیے عالمی مہم چلا رہی ہے۔
انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ وہ 2018 سے بنیادی میڈیا ، سیاسی اور عدالتی اصلاحات کا مطالبہ کر رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ اصلاحات ملک کے لیے انتہائی ضروری ہیں اور یہ ان کے بغیر آگے نہیں بڑھ سکتی۔
