وزیر خزانہ نے گندم اور دیگر اشیاء کی قیمتوں کو مستحکم کرنے کی ہدایت کی
Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Shaukat Tareen has directed the Ministry of Industries and Production and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to expedite the process of developing a strategy that would have a significant impact on edible oil prices. Presiding over a meeting of the National Price Monitoring Committee (NPMC) at the Finance Division on Wednesday, the Minister took note of wheat prices in Sindh and Balochistan and directed the Chief Secretaries of the two provinces to do so on a daily basis. Tareen praised the Punjab government and the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration for releasing wheat daily at the government’s fixed price, which has eased pressure on wheat flour prices.
On this occasion, NPMC was informed about the 0.10% decline in weekly SPI, as the last two weeks have seen a steady decline in weekly SPI. The meeting participants were informed that the prices of 10 items, including perishable items such as tomatoes, onions, peanuts and mash pulses, have come down. Similarly, prices of 21 items remained stable during the week under review. The declining trend in weekly SPIs, as emphasized, reflects the results of recent initiatives by the federal and provincial governments and relevant departments. Furthermore, the CPI is showing a downward trend of 8.58% in the first quarter of FY 2021-22 as against 8.84% in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The Secretary National Food Security and Research informed the NPMC about the adequate availability of wheat stocks in the public sector till the arrival of the new crop.
The NPMC stressed the need to ensure smooth supply of wheat across the country at government notified prices. It reviewed the price trend in global markets and decided to minimize the impact on consumers.
The Finance Division apprised the committee of the rising prices of food items in the international market.
The Secretary, Ministry of Industries and Production has updated the NPMC to open a tender for import of 50,000 metric tonnes of sugar. He urged the government to stabilize share prices by making progress on the supply of sugar at fixed prices through a network of social markets and utility stores.
It is noteworthy that overall, the prices of tomatoes and onions declined during the week. The NPMC has directed the Ministry of Commerce to come up with a thorough proposal on onion exports before the next ECC meeting.

اس وقت پنجاب اور باقی صوبوں کے درمیان قیمتوں میں فرق ہے۔
ترین نے پنجاب حکومت اور اسلام آباد کیپیٹل ٹیریٹری آئی سی ٹی انتظامیہ کی حکومت کی مقررہ قیمت پر روزانہ گندم جاری کرنے پر تعریف کی جس سے گندم کے آٹے کی قیمتوں پر دباؤ کم ہوا ہے۔

فنانس ڈویژن نے کمیٹی کو بین الاقوامی مارکیٹ میں اشیاء خوردونوش کی بڑھتی ہوئی قیمتوں سے آگاہ کیا۔
سیکرٹری صنعت و پیداوار نے این پی ایم سی کو 50 ہزار میٹرک ٹن چینی کی درآمد کے لیے ٹینڈر کھولنے کے لیے اپ ڈیٹ کیا ہے۔ انہوں نے حکومت پر زور دیا کہ وہ سماجی منڈیوں اور یوٹیلیٹی سٹورز کے نیٹ ورک کے ذریعے چینی کی سپلائی پر مقررہ قیمتوں پر پیش رفت کرکے حصص کی قیمتوں کو مستحکم کرے۔
قابل ذکر ہے کہ مجموعی طور پر ہفتے کے دوران ٹماٹر اور پیاز کی قیمتوں میں کمی آئی۔ این پی ایم سی نے وزارت تجارت کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ وہ اگلی ای سی سی میٹنگ سے پہلے پیاز کی برآمدات کے بارے میں مکمل تجویز لے کر آئے۔
