Donald Trump sharply criticized Joe Biden, saying that the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan would have been more successful if he had been president at the time.
The White House has strongly reacted to the former president’s statement, saying that the decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan and the agreement with the Taliban was made in 2020 under Donald Trump.
The international media also seems to agree with Donald Trump on the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan. A BBC analyst says it is true that Trump drafted a deal with the Taliban, but the speed with which Biden worked is astonishing to the world.
It should be noted that in view of the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, the United Nations has convened an important meeting of the Security Council in which the big minds will sit together and work out a plan of action for the future.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for ensuring human rights and the protection of human lives and property in Afghanistan, ensuring humanitarian aid activities, and the United Nations is committed to a peaceful solution in Afghanistan.

ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ نے جو بائیڈن پر شدید تنقید کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اگر وہ اس وقت صدر ہوتے تو افغانستان سے امریکی فوجیوں کا انخلا زیادہ کامیاب ہوتا۔
وائٹ ہاؤس نے سابق صدر کے جاری کردہ بیان پر سخت رد عمل کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ افغانستان سے فوج واپس بلانے کا فیصلہ اور طالبان کے ساتھ معاہدہ 2020 میں ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ کے دور میں کیا گیا تھا۔
بین الاقوامی میڈیا بھی افغانستان سے امریکی فوجیوں کے انخلا پر ڈونلڈ ٹرمپ سے متفق نظر آتا ہے۔ بی بی سی کا ایک تجزیہ کہتا ہے کہ یہ درست ہے کہ ٹرمپ نے طالبان کے ساتھ معاہدے کا مسودہ تیار کیا ، لیکن بائیڈن نے جس رفتار سے کام کیا وہ دنیا کے لیے حیران کن ہے۔
واضح رہے کہ افغانستان کی بگڑتی ہوئی صورتحال کے پیش نظر اقوام متحدہ نے سلامتی کونسل کا ایک اہم اجلاس طلب کیا ہے جس میں بڑے ذہن مل بیٹھ کر مستقبل کے لیے لائحہ عمل طے کریں گے۔
اقوام متحدہ کے سیکرٹری جنرل انتونیو گوتریس نے افغانستان میں انسانی حقوق اور لوگوں کے جان و مال کے تحفظ کو یقینی بنانے ، انسانی امداد کی سرگرمیوں کو یقینی بنانے پر زور دیا ہے اور اقوام متحدہ افغانستان میں پرامن حل کے لیے پرعزم ہے۔
