On Monday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) said that the Punjab government had made NA-75 Daska ‘controversial’ by appointing officers of its choice.
According to the details, in its written reply to the NA-75 Daska election case filed in the Supreme Court, the Election Commission said that government officials and political representatives violated the code of conduct.
The ECP said the district administration had failed to control the law and order situation. The failure of the district administration led to severe violence on election day. Due to the law and order situation, appointments and transfers were banned in Daska.
The situation worsened in 40 constituencies during the election, an ECP official said.
The Election Commissioner wrote a letter to the IG and Chief Secretary Punjab regarding the killings and firing incidents.
The ECP said that the Punjab government did not co-operate with the Election Commission in the Daska elections, which led to the annulment of polling.
Earlier, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decided to reconstitute NA-75 Daska by-election. The by-election will now take place on April 10, 2021, according to the Supreme Electoral Commission.

الیکشن کمشنر نے ہلاکتوں اور فائرنگ کے واقعات سے متعلق آئی جی اور چیف سیکرٹری پنجاب کو خط لکھا۔
ای سی پی نے کہا کہ پنجاب حکومت نے ڈسکہ انتخابات میں الیکشن کمیشن کے ساتھ تعاون نہیں کیا جس کی وجہ سے پولنگ کو کالعدم قرار دیا گیا۔
قبل ازیں الیکشن کمیشن آف پاکستان نے حلقہ این اے 75 ڈسکہ ضمنی انتخابات کو دوبارہ تشکیل دینے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ اعلی انتخابی ادارہ کے اعلان کے مطابق ، اب یہ ضمنی انتخاب 10 اپریل 2021 کو ہوگا۔
