A significant drop in gasoline and diesel sales has been observed in Pakistan, according to an April industry report on oil consumption due to the ongoing blockade caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Petrol consumption was 680,000 tons in April 2019, according to the report, gasoline consumption was 440,000 tons, which corresponds to a reduction of 36% in April 2020.
Diesel sales decreased by up to 16% to 550,000 tonnes in April 2020 compared to April 19 data, which recorded 650,000 tonnes of consumption Total petroleum product sales declined by up to 35% in April due to blocking measures in the country.
Last year’s sales record shows a consumption of 1.65 million tons compared to April 2020 data of up to 1.07 million tons. The decline in sales remained 13% to 13.35 million tons in the first 10 months of the current financial year, according to a report by the oil industry.
