حکومت پنجاب نے عصمت دری کے واقعات کو روکنے کے لئے ریپ انویسٹی گیشن یونٹ بنانے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے
گوجر پور موٹروے عصمت دری کے معاملے کے بعد ، پنجاب پولیس نے صوبے بھر میں ایک ‘ریپ انویسٹی گیشن یونٹ’ قائم کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔
ذرائع کے مطابق پنجاب کے تمام تھانوں میں اسپیشل سیل ریپ انویسٹی گیشن یونٹ (آر آئی یو) قائم کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا ہے۔ یہ سیل خواتین اور بچوں کو جنسی زیادتی اور ہراساں کرنے کے معاملات کی تحقیقات کرے گا۔
پنجاب کے تمام تھانوں میں خصوصی تفتیشی آفیسر آر آئی یو کا حصہ ہوں گے اور یہ یونٹ ایس پی رینک آفیسر کی نگرانی میں صوبے کے بڑے اضلاع میں کام کرے گا۔
پولیس ذرائع نے بتایا کہ انویسٹی گیشن یونٹ کو خصوصی اختیارات حاصل ہوں گے کہ وہ جلد ہی ڈی این اے ٹیسٹ کی رپورٹ حاصل کرسکیں۔ گواہوں کی شناخت ، گرفتاری ، شواہد اور تحفظ تفتیشی افسران کی ذمہ داری ہوگی۔ اس کے علاوہ ، آر آئی یو میں تعینات تفتیشی افسران دیگر فرائض سے بھی آزاد ہوں گے۔
Following the Gujjarpur Motorway rape case, Punjab Police has decided to set up a ‘Rape Investigation Unit’ across the province.
According to sources, it has been decided to set up Special Cell Rape Investigation Unit (RIU) in all police stations of Punjab. The cell will investigate cases of sexual abuse and harassment of women and children.
Special Investigating Officers in all police stations of Punjab will be part of RIUKA and this unit will work in the major districts of the province under the supervision of SP Rank Officer.
Police sources said that the investigation unit will have special powers to get the DNA test report soon. The identification, arrest, evidence and protection of witnesses will be the responsibility of the investigating officers. In addition, the investigating officers posted at the RIU will be free from other duties.
