Pakistani bowling coach Waqar Younis said that in the second Test match against England, the confidence of the team was restored through the courage of wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan through a half-century.
Mohammad Rizwan scored the first goal for Pakistan with a 72-run strike in the first innings and won the Man of the Match award.
“Rizwan has shown bravery in difficult situations,” Waqar told the media on Monday. “His innings was the reason to restore the team’s confidence.”
The 48-year-old said the team was fully prepared for the game but it ended in a draw.
“We are disappointed with the result, but nothing can be done about Mother Nature.”
Commenting on possible changes to the rules in the tests, Younis said he was always in favor of keeping things because they were in format because it was “real business”.
The Burewala Express added that management had not yet considered whether a change of squad was needed for the third Test in Southampton. “We will make our decision after looking at the situation.”
