Pakistan’s leading health official said the intensity of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country is not as severe as in other parts of the world.
Minister of State for Health Zafar Mirza said late Monday when he informed Prime Minister Imran Khan and other cabinet ministers that the virus’s prevalence has so far been lower compared to other countries in the world.
“Compared to other countries, the number of confirmed cases and the mortality rate are lower than in other parts of the world,” said Mirza, according to a statement by the Prime Minister.
However, official data showed that new cases in the country are increasing day by day, as confirmed cases exceeded the 14,000 mark on Tuesday.
According to the Ministry of Health, 751 new cases have been confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases to 14,079, while 16 more deaths in one day increased the death toll to 301.

وزیر اعظم کے دفتر سے جاری ایک بیان کے مطابق ، مرزا نے کہا ، “دوسرے ممالک کے مقابلے میں ، تصدیق شدہ کیسز اور ہلاکتوں کا تناسب دنیا کے دوسرے حصوں کے مقابلے میں کم ہے۔”
لیکن سرکاری اعداد و شمار سے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ ملک میں نئے کیسز میں روز بروز اضافہ ہورہا ہے کیونکہ تصدیق شدہ کیسوں نے منگل کو 14،000 کا نمبر تراس کر لیا۔
وزارت صحت کے مطابق ، گذشتہ 24 گھنٹوں کے دوران 751 نئے کیسوں کی تصدیق ہوگئی ، جس کی وجہ سے کیسوں کی مجموعی تعداد 14،079 ہوگئی ، جبکہ ایک دن میں مزید 16 اموات سے ہلاکتوں کی تعداد 301 ہوگئی۔
