The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Saturday that the federal government and all provincial governments were working in a unified and coherent manner to overcome the coronavirus pandemic, relieving vulnerable groups in society despite financial constraints.
She said the government’s efforts and measures are aimed at protecting people from COVID-19 and mitigating their economic impact. Both the federal and state governments are aware of the pain of the masses and have made decisions to address their difficulties.
She said that Prime Minister Imran Khan is fully committed to supporting all provincial governments in the national war against the pandemic and that it is the responsibility of the information ministers to promote the national narrative at a critical time.
Dr. Firdous said at the prime minister’s instruction that health professionals across the country had received personal protective equipment. In a similar way, the process of distributing personal protective equipment among the media has now begun at the Prime Minister’s instruction. In the first phase, protective kits were distributed to 50 cameramen from 25 leading channels of the Press Information Department (PID), and the process would be repeated in the coming days at provincial level under the guidance of the respective provincial information ministers.
She said the Ministry of Information, in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), would disinfest all of the country’s major press clubs so that pastors of the media could do their jobs in a conducive atmosphere.
The SAPM said government departments had been instructed to pay outstanding fees from various media houses.
Dr. Firdous said the media industry’s financial crisis worsened after the corona virus broke out, and the government decided to include media workers in industrial workers’s ration program, in line with the Prime Minister’s guidelines. She asked the provincial information ministers to compile lists of media workers whose names were to be included in the ration distribution program.

انہوں نے کہا کہ وزیر اعظم عمران خان وبائی مرض کے خلاف قومی جنگ میں تمام صوبائی حکومتوں کی حمایت کرنے کے لئے پوری طرح پرعزم ہیں اور یہ کہ نازک وقت پر قومی بیانیہ کو فروغ دینا وزیر اطلاعات کی ذمہ داری ہے۔
ڈاکٹر فردوس نے وزیر اعظم کی ہدایت پر کہا کہ ملک بھر میں صحت کے پیشہ ور افراد کو ذاتی حفاظتی سامان ملا ہے۔ اسی طرح ، وزیر اعظم کی ہدایت پر اب میڈیا میں ذاتی حفاظتی سامان تقسیم کرنے کا عمل شروع ہوچکا ہے۔ پہلے مرحلے میں ، پریس انفارمیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ (پی آئی ڈی) کے 25 سر فہرست چینلز کے 50 کیمرا مینوں کو حفاظتی کٹس تقسیم کی گئیں ، اور آئندہ دنوں میں صوبائی سطح پر متعلقہ صوبائی وزیر اطلاعات کی رہنمائی میں اس عمل کو دہرایا جائے گا۔
