قابض بھارتی فوج کی جارحیت کے خلاف شاہراہ کو روکنے کے بعد علاقہ مکینوں نے احتجاج کیا اور مطالبہ کیا کہ لاشوں کو ان کے اہل خانہ کے حوالے کیا جائے۔ عینی شاہدین نے بتایا کہ یہ نوجوان غیر مسلح اور بے قصور تھے اور جعلی مقابلے میں مارے گئے تھے۔ خیال رہے کہ دو روز قبل قابض بھارتی فوج نے ضلع کولگام میں سرچ آپریشن کے دوران دو کشمیری نوجوانوں کو گولی مار کر ہلاک کردیا تھا۔ اس طرح تین دن میں شہید نوجوانوں کی تعداد پانچ ہوگئی۔
