Planning minister Asad Umar said during a press conference on the coronavirus situation that Pakistan’s loss of revenue in April was estimated at 119 billion rupees due to coronavirus closures and restrictions. 10.8 million people could be made unemployed, while two to seven million could go below the poverty line due to the effects of the ban.
Minister said over time the number of deaths related to the disease increased in the country.
Umar said one million small businesses could be affected by the ban. He added that at least 24 people have died from the coronavirus daily in the past six days. According to him, 720 people could die from the virus in a month if the situation persists.
The planning minister said the government would make decisions based on the current situation. “Prime Minister Imran Khan will be informed of the current situation on Covid-19 in the coming days. The government will then decide on its strategies after May 9 after a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC). “
He said we had significantly improved the capacity of our healthcare system. We currently have 1,400 ventilators for coronavirus patients and 900 more will be added in two months. Currently 35 coronavirus patients have been ventilated. He said the country now has the ability to develop medical devices and will soon start producing ventilators at home.
The minister said the country has 55 functional laboratories and we could conduct over 14,000 corona tests daily. He said the test, tracking, and quarantine system had been made operational, and its manifestation had recently been seen in two sectors of the federal capital.

عمر نے کہا کہ لاک ڈاؤن سے دس لاکھ چھوٹے کاروبار متاثر ہوسکتے ہیں۔ انہوں نے مزید کہا کہ پچھلے چھ دنوں میں ، روزانہ کورونا وائرس سے کم از کم 24 افراد کی موت ہوچکی ہے۔ ان کے بقول ، اگر یہ صورتحال برقرار رہی تو ایک مہینے میں 720 افراد وائرس سے ہلاک ہوسکتے ہیں۔
وزیر منصوبہ بندی نے کہا کہ حکومت موجودہ صورتحال کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے فیصلے کرے گی۔ وزیر اعظم عمران خان کو آئندہ دنوں میں کوڈ 19 پر موجودہ صورتحال سے آگاہ کیا جائے گا۔ اس کے بعد حکومت قومی رابطہ کمیٹی (این سی سی) کے اجلاس میں 9 مئی کے بعد کی حکمت عملیوں کا فیصلہ کرے گی۔
